The Team

Our services are supplemented by an experienced and qualified bank of specialist contract staff with whom the directors have established a long standing working relationship, ensuring a complete and quality service to all of our clients.

We are also supported by a bank of staff, each offering relevant skills in the delivery of accounting and taxation services.

Catherine Maciocia ACMA - Director

Experience/specialisms: A qualified Chartered Management Accountant, Catherine has over 20 years of Industry experience to Divisional Finance Director level. She has worked with Blue Chip Companies in various industries including Electronics, Sportswear Manufacture and Engineering (Oil & Gas). Catherine established her own accountancy practice in 2002 and works with start-up and growing SME’s. Catherine’s areas of expertise are Investor ready and fund-raising work, Due Diligence, Business review/Strategy Development, Management Information Systems development and FD level support.

Qualifications: Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Chartered Secretary.

Hobbies: Catherine enjoys spending time with her family.  She is a Qualified Swimming teacher and a member of Parent Council, she enjoys reading and is an avid film fan.

Shiona Wishart CA - Director

Experience/specialisms: Shiona qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1994 and has over 17 years experience gained in practice. Shiona has experience of the SME market and successfully co-ran a business consultancy practice in Kirkcaldy, convyclark, which was acquired by a national accountancy firm. Shiona has the knowledge and experience to deal with all aspects of accountancy and taxation and has extensive systems experience. Shiona is responsible for client management, overseeing all financial accountancy and tax work.

Qualifications: Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland

Hobbies: Shiona enjoys spending time with her family and friends, music, cooking, reading and learning. She is also a member of young and fun local Rotary club via which she can "give something back".

Teri Grubb – Accounts Assistant

Teri has over 30 years experience working in industry and practice. She worked within the building industry for 12 years and her remit was weekly payroll for 200 employees, responsibility for sales and purchase ledgers and credit control. Teri then successfully ran a family business with her husband for 17 years and her role included payroll and book-keeping. Following the sale of the business Teri continued in industry and latterly in practice. Teri is experienced in payroll, management accounting and VAT returns. She specialises in running a payroll bureau and providing sage training and backup support.

Hobbies: Teri's hobbies include walking, spending time with her family, reading and gardening.

Jill Stupart – Client Manager

Jill has over 14 years’ accountancy experience working in industry. Jill is a very flexible, versatile and competent individual who has the ability to react to the unpredictable. Jill is highly skilled in a number of software packages and is proficient in related IT issues. Jill has worked with a number of bespoke packages over the years together with SAGE products including Payroll, Sage Accounts and Line 100. Jill has been responsible for implementing new company procedures on a number of occasions and is skilled in setting up systems. Jill is responsible for setting up, maintaining and managing client processing work and ensuring that management accounts and VAT returns are prepared to meet with deadlines.

Hobbies: Jill enjoys spending time with her family, loves music and going to concerts and going on holiday – especially to Cornwall and Australia.

Carole Thompson AAT – Client Manager

Carole has over 20 years’ accountancy experience working in practice. She has worked mainly with the SME market and is a qualified Accounting Technician. Over the years, Carole has gained vast knowledge in all aspects of accounts preparation, taxation and payroll. In the last five years, Carole has been heavily involved in ensuring that clients meet all of their statutory requirements and deadlines. She has particular experience in taxation and undertakes tax work for tax only clients, sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, she also has experience in dealing with tax investigation cases. Carole has good all round experience having worked both within a small practice environment and for a national accountancy practice.

Hobbies: Carole enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music and going to the gym.

Mark Smith – Accounts Assistant

Mark is the youngest and newest member of the team. He gained a BA degree in Accounting at Napier University in 2003 and was top 5 in his year. Mark has experience in industry and practice, with particular expertise in SAGE processing and preparation of accounts to trial balance stage. Mark has good practical and theoretical skills and these will be developed within his current role. Mark is an outgoing, friendly person who is an asset to the team and always willing to help.

Hobbies: Mark enjoys sports, socialising with friends, films, travelling and writing comedy or poetry pieces.
